چکیده

The purpose of this paper is to present a new, possibly preferable method for cavernous sinus and orbital venography, by retrograde catheterization from the arm, With this procedure, good opacification of cavernous sinus may be offered also in patients who have heart diseases, This procedure can be tolerated with minimal discomfort. The patterns of the caverneus sinus are demonstrated in those with intracranial diseases. There have been no complications in our initial experience of 28 examinations. Key werds: Cavernous sinus venography, Orbital venography, Pituitary tumor, Orbital mass lesion

A randomized evaluation of different approaches to coronary sinus venography during biventricular pacemaker implants.

AIM Biventricular implantation procedures require contrast venography of the coronary sinus. The aim of our study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of contrast venography obtained by direct manual contrast injection into the guiding catheter, compared with venography obtained after occlusion of the coronary sinus by a Swan-Ganz catheter. METHODS Eighty-three patients were randomly assig...

Short Communication Recurrent Cavernous Sinus Syndrome Complicating Supratentorial Arteriovenous Malformation: Report of a Case

A S-year-old girl with history of unexplained cerebral palsy and cranial asymmetry presented with an acute encephalopathy and a cavernous sinus syndrome. Radiologic studies disclosed an arteriovenous malformation draining into a dilated vein of Galen, arterialization of flow into the cavernous sinuses from runoff of the malformation, and non-filling of the cavernous sinuses on orbital venograph...

Image Guided Venous Sampling for the Localization of Endocrine Tumors

Figure 1. IPSS venography. Image shows microcatheters in both inferior petrosal sinuses (black arrows) after contrast injection from the left side, which opacified the contralateral sinus via mild reflux, indicative of proper catheter positioning. The black star indicates the expected location of the pituitary gland within the opacified cavernous sinus. Elevated levels of cortisol production re...

Acute Dural Sinus Thrombosis — Computed Tomography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging Features

Dural sinus thrombosis is a diagnosis that is not commonly thought of in the first instance by radiologists and clinicians, especially when the clinical presentation is not specific. We describe the clinical presentation of three patients with acute thrombosis of the superior sagittal sinus, the left transverse sinus, and the right cavernous sinus, respectively. Compared with computed tomograph...

Abnormality in the cavernous sinus in three patients with Tolosa-Hunt syndrome: MRI and CT findings.

Three patients with Tolosa-Hunt syndrome (THS) were examined using computed tomography (CT), orbital venography and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). CT of the brain showed no definite abnormality in two patients, right optic nerve enlargement and an abnormal area around the orbital apex in one patient. Orbital venography showed an occlusion of the superior ophthalmic vein in one of three patie...
